Lujane Pagganwala
Lujane Pagganwala is a Pakistani multidisciplinary artist and graduate of the Royal College of Art, London. Working between the UK and Pakistan, her practice explores the phenomenology of space, liminality and the relationship between physical, experienced and imagined realities.
Through immersive installations and participatory encounters, she creates sensorial environments that bring together childhood memories, urban structures and the shifting boundaries of perception.
Her work is featured in RAW STATES の, curated by Marie Camara for off-RCA, official curatorial partner of Niche.Show London 2026.

Pagganwala's practice investigates how we inhabit multiple spaces simultaneously — physical, remembered and imagined.
Drawing on childhood structures, architectural forms and the instability of urban environments, she creates playful yet confrontational encounters that challenge our understanding of presence, identity and spatial experience.
Her work explores liminality, entanglement and transience, inviting audiences to become active participants in the construction of meaning.

For RAW STATES の, Pagganwala presents The Pagemaster's Ballad, a participatory gustatory installation exploring the relationship between language, taste, scent and perception.
Individual words from the artist's text are presented on cards, each accompanied by a translucent isomalt bonbon. Visitors are invited to select an offering and consume it, transforming written language into an embodied sensory encounter.
The work introduces a dialogue between attraction and repulsion, innocence and discomfort, through sensory references to clove, rose and tobacco.
Developed in dialogue with olfactory artist Misia-O’, the installation brings taste and scent into conversation, extending the experience of the artwork beyond the visual.
Through this exchange, language becomes material, consumption becomes participation, and the audience becomes part of the work.
