Kerri McEvoy is an Irish interdisciplinary artist based in London and a graduate of the Royal College of Art, where she studied MA Print.
Working across printmaking, painting, sculpture and collected objects, her practice investigates erasure, deconstruction and the relationship between material processes and lived experience.
Through sanding, etching, redaction and the removal of existing imagery or text, McEvoy explores how absence can become a form of presence. Her work addresses personal memory, identity, girlhood and womanhood, examining the culture of silence surrounding violence and shame.
The materials and traces left behind become integral to her artistic language. By transforming discarded objects and altered documents, she creates new possibilities for interpretation, connection and remembrance.

For RAW STATES の, Kerri McEvoy's practice explores the transformative potential of erasure, where destruction becomes a generative act.
In her project Redaction, legal documents are obscured with red paint, producing fragments of text and redacted poetry. The documents are subsequently pulped and transformed into handmade red paper leaves, which become surfaces for new writing.
Through this process, the original material is simultaneously dismantled and reconstructed. What has been removed remains present through residue, stains and physical traces.
McEvoy's work reveals how materials can retain the imprint of lived experience, examining the relationship between absence, memory and transformation.

REDACTION
Redaction is an ongoing investigation into personal trauma, memory and the act of erasure.
Working with legal documents, red paint and handmade paper, McEvoy transforms existing records into new material and poetic forms.
The resulting works explore the tension between concealment and disclosure, destruction and preservation, and the traces that remain after an act of removal.
