Working with photography, film and material experimentation, Al Mutairi uses storytelling to explore personal histories, relationships and the ways in which experiences are remembered and communicated.
Her artistic process is shaped by an openness to materials, allowing their properties, limitations and unexpected behaviours to influence the development of each work.

For RAW STATES の, Dalal Al Mutairi presents work from Time Passes, a series exploring the relationship between memory, repetition and the act of repair.
Using thread and delicate flowers, Al Mutairi engages in a repetitive process of stitching that becomes both meditative and emotionally charged.
Each gesture moves between past and present, revisiting fragments of personal history, family relationships and the vulnerability of her younger self.
Thread becomes more than a physical material. It embodies the responsibility of holding things together, reflecting the artist's experience of maintaining connections while confronting unresolved memories.
Through repetition, fragility and material resistance, Time Passes explores the possibility of repair without erasing the traces of what has been experienced.

TIME PASSES
Time Passes explores the emotional and symbolic potential of thread, flowers and repeated gestures.
Working with real flowers and stitching, Dalal Al Mutairi transforms delicate materials into an intimate investigation of memory, family relationships and personal history.
The repetitive act of threading becomes a form of meditation and repair, while the fragility of the flowers evokes the passage of time and the vulnerability of remembered experiences.
Through this material process, the work invites reflection on the relationship between care, responsibility and the traces of the past.
