Upcoming Workshops at off-RCA
Join us for a series of cutting-edge, multi sensory workshops exploring the evolving intersections of art, scent, theory, and spatial poetics.
Led by award-winning photographer, trained perfumer, interior architect, and RCA graduate Misia-O’, these workshops draw on the artist’s multidisciplinary background and teaching experience at the Royal College of Art and UAL. Rooted in new materialist and post-humanist thought, and inspired by the writings of Gaston Bachelard, Clarice Lispector, Jane Bennett, Rosi Braidotti, Karen Barad, and Stacy Alaimo, each session invites participants to engage with matter not as passive material, but as a vibrant, agentic presence that co-creates meaning.
Recent highlights include Emotional Landscapes: The Interplay of Scent and Photography — a talk and scent-making workshop hosted at the RCA for 22 photography students. This and upcoming sessions guide participants through both theory and embodied practice, embracing sensorial, speculative, and process-based approaches to contemporary art.
From scented image-making to atmospheric installations, from poetic architectures to ecological materialities — these workshops are for artists, designers, and thinkers seeking deeper, more relational, and transformative engagements with their work and the world around them.
