BACKSTAGE.

  • MARIE CAMARA - FOUNDER/CURATOR

Marie Camara (Misia-O’) is a synesthetic artist, perfumer, and curator. She holds an MA in Photography from the Royal College of Art and studied curatorial practice at Sotheby’s Institute. She has curated previous editions of off-RCA and produced immersive, multisensory events at the intersection of scent, image, and spatial experience. Her practice unites fine art photography, scent design, and interior architecture — guided by restraint, emotional presence, and the poetic use of scent as unseen structure.

Her signature approach shapes scent as an invisible, immersive architecture — a structure of breath and space. She does not choreograph narrative, but atmosphere: the emotional climate in which artworks are felt.

Grounded in post-humanism and new materialism — philosophies that dissolve the boundary between body, matter, and machine — her curatorial voice unfolds in the liminal. off-RCA is her living platform: part collective, part gallery, part breath.

  • HERMIONE WILTSHIRE - CO-CURATOR

Hermione Wiltshire is an artist, researcher, and educator whose practice spans photography, sculpture, architecture, and performance. A graduate of Central Saint Martins and Chelsea School of Art, she is a long-standing tutor and former Acting Head of Photography at the Royal College of Art, where she currently leads the Material Looking workshop. Her work explores photography as a sculptural, spatial form, deeply rooted in feminist theory, post-humanism, and new materialism — engaging matter, the body, and politics as intertwined agents of meaning. With exhibitions at institutions including Tate Liverpool and IMMA, her work is held in major public and private collections. For off-RCA の memory, she brings a rigorous and sensuous curatorial perspective, selecting artists whose practices speak through material presence, image, and transformation.
